Streatham Swimming Club is an inclusive and competitive club which welcomes all young people. We encourage every swimmer to reach their potential, whatever that may be.
Where we train
We swim at two venues: Streatham pool, London SW16 on Tuesdays and Fridays and St Joseph’s College, London SE19 on Sundays and Wednesdays.
How to join
Trials for prospective new members are taking place and those on the waiting list will be called in for a try out. Please do continue to contact the Membership Secretary for details.
See minimum requirements
Under 10 years old minimum standard: 25 metres on the front and back plus 10 metres kick on all four strokes.
10 year olds minimum standard: 10 metres of Butterfly and 25 metres of Backstroke, Breaststroke and Front crawl demonstrating good technique.
11 & 12 year olds minimum standard: 25 metres Butterfly and 50 metres of Backstroke, Breaststroke and Front crawl demonstrating good technique.
We particularly need to boost our under 10s gala team and priority will be given to these swimmers applying to join. Other minimum standards will apply to older age groups and information can be obtained from the Membership Secretary.

Who we are
The club is run entirely by volunteers – including all the teachers and organisers. Any contribution is welcome and the more volunteers we have the better. There are opportunities to train as a swimming official including gala judges and time keepers with course fees paid for by the club. Other volunteer opportunities include joining the committee, organising the annual presentation evening and registration of swimmers at training sessions. Please contact any member of the committee if you are interested.
